there was this one time...

all about baby

so my lovely mom threw me a shower- i know that is a no no in the etiquette book- but it might be her last grandbaby from me so she went all out. :) i thank you mom... from the bottom of my heart- for all the work you put into making such a special day for us. :) so- the tables were totally scrapbooked supplied out. :) i used 3 sheets of PP- mostly KI-- under the cake stands. and sprinkled heidi swapp ghost flowers around them. each table had different 7inch cakes with different flavors so everyone could taste the others. :) my favor bags- i couldn't resist, you know i had to make them-- were votive cups from target with 2 strips of PP on them with different rubons, stickers, etc- with things that had to do with baby on them--filled with pink and white m&m's. then we made a CD with songs that had the word BABY in the title. and just one new song from jack johnson. couldn't resist. :)  LOVED seeing old friends and family, that is my friend vanessa with me- i've known her since i was 12. probably my only friend that i have kept in touch with. anyways, it was so fun. :) made it all so real that this baby is weeks away from us. we can't wait.

now i need to be all about scrapbooking. 2peas creating garden goes up tomorrow night and i haven't done a thing. and it should be a really good one people, so check it out.

some sweetness 4 U

my boy is home sick. scratchy throat, hoarse voice, dry cough, jibberjabbing in his sleep. cuteness. but sad to see my ball of energy boy not well.

in other sweetness news, i am accumulating pink. my sweet SIL, erin came to my house and brought me lots of pink goodies. i put it all up-- i like seeing the pink around me. i bought these cute little pony holders at target yesterday. if this baby is anything like my others, she will come out with a head full of hair! i don't know what made me happier- cute little ponies or target clearance. i love target. :)

so that AND a new Grey's Anatomy--- yeah, Sunday night TV was good. Christina is a riot and I just want to beat Meredith and McDreamy. They are driving me crazy. Hang in there Addison---with your insane husband.

far from perfect

i am fully aware that nobody is perfect. and i completely embrace my imperfections.  i don't care that my house is a mess. i don't care that there is a ton of laundry to be done. i don't care that my car hasn't been vacuumed in forever. should i? what does that say about me-- that i can live amongst this mess and be okay with it? it says-- i just cannot do it all. i am not superwoman. yes, i would like to be. i guess i am nesting? the thought of another little one in the house is really sinking in. anyways, today was not one of those days where i was my usual self. i was NOT okay with everything. i snapped at my kids when they told me i needed to do laundry (in my head i am going, YOU DO IT!) i snapped at my kids (and chris--sorrrrrry) for EVERY little thing. ugh. and that's how they went to school this morning. that's a crappy way for a kid to start the day. :( so sorry. that's how i've been feeling all morning. i put this little painted vase that kira made me on her desk with a card. i know she will forgive and this tiny gesture will mean the world to her.

today, i did 3 loads of laundry, put dinner in the crock pot, swept and mopped the kitchen floor and vacuumed my car AND trunk. that's just house stuff- not to mention all the scrap/work stuff i had to do. yes, it felt good... but i would sure like to get back to my normal self soon. this is ridiculous.

so not fair

trust me, this is a good angle. there is stuff EVERYWHERE. but i am in the mode. got lots to do and am crossing things off my list. feels SO good. this mojo better not go anywhere!!! as long as i got my mochi ball stash in the freezer, i think i am good. :)

for daddy

so i have been rockin' on making chris a cup of tea. :) i get all excited when he asks me to make him one. like it's a test or something. i'm always like, how is it? better than the last one? ever since we got back from australia, i have been gung ho on making it like they do. i'm sure i am not super close... but close enough. close enough for him to keep drinking it. and now our australian tea stash is almost gone! what to do...

well caleb brought home this cup from school today and the first thing he said to me was- can you call dad and tell him i got him a teacup? lol. so cute. it's this little plastic, cheapy cup from oriental trading company. he was sick the week before christmas so he was just picking up his goodies today. which seems like it's been forever since all 3 of my kids were back in school. all 3 were sick before christmas so today was like vacation for me! heehee. :) and i bought baby 3 outfits today. i wasn't kidding about starting to buy once Christmas was over. :)

our kids each got a hermit crab from their auntie erin for christmas. chris and i are not pet people, so this was a huge deal to our kids...to let these little creatures into our home. they promised that they would take care of them... that they would be their responsibility. i half listened to all the directions erin gave us.

and then one died. cammy's. it HAD to be cammy's. my most emotional boy. the one who was THE most excited about the crabs. his had an eyeball painted on it's shell. he named it EYEnstein. how cute is that?! he cried and cried. it hadn't even been 2 weeks! ugh.

so today we went to the petstore to replace EYEnstein. this one looks just like him. and he's quite spunky. so cam named him Verb. :) :) :) i asked the pet store lady a million questions and read the instruction sheet over and over and bought a few more things for the tank that we probably didn't really need. but-i am determined not to let the reason the crab dies be because of ME! i am all gung ho now. yes, i have been giving the dudes tap water, so that alone could have been the reason EYEnstein died. it's not happening again, i tell you...not over tap water. natural reasons, yes, but not mom's laziness in giving them tap water. lol!

 

hi. looooong post ahead.

so christmas was beautiful. food was spectacular. family was wonderful. gifts were appreciated. i didn't take very many pictures. and i am okay with that. i did get a bunch of random shots of what we've been doing the last few days.
here they are:
i got a canon speedlight flash. this will do wonders in my dark little house. i am so excited. that first pic of the boys are in our hallway, which is totally dark. unbelievable! :)

one of our gifts from chris' parents was to go on a double date with his sister and brother in law who were visiting from Washington State. we went to a hip downtown LA restaurant and then a Laker game. fun for all. i discovered my new obsession--mochi balls. yuuuuuuuuuum. and i also got my new photo tile necklace in the mail that night from my good bud, tracy - SO cute. :) we had such a good night. too bad we had to come home to 6 kids. lol.

most of the days were spent hanging around the house, either ours or my inlaws. chris got a new PSP and is totally lovin the Tiger Woods Golf Game he got. the kids got so many board games and video games. we would light the fire and just play all day. we are totally cranium crazy. :) i got obsessed with a 500 piece double sided Star Wars puzzle. lol. i had my little niece, jaeden, over for a few days. she got the kids skates for christmas so there were many skating adventures. and we had a storm. it rained on our beautiful rose parade!!! we didn't even go up to see the floats. oh well. chris and i agreed that this was one of the best christmases we have had. just so relaxing, so nice to be with family. i'm glad my kids have one more week off of school, i am not ready to go back to the real world.

lastly, i had a doc visit today. it's on the calendar now. 2 months from today. march 3rd. i will go in for my C section. so amazing. i have also been put on a iron diet. ugh. seems my little girl is sucking a lot of energy out of me (which is why i took 3 naps yesterday-lol). and the little girl gifts are starting to sprinkle in. chris got me this really cute diaper bag for christmas- he said he couldn't resist because it looked like my scrapbooking paper. how cute. :) and we got some little girlie clothes, too... onesies, cute outfit. i have been holding back buying anything for the baby until christmas is over. i guess it is totally on now. :) gosh, i hope she's a girl. lol. :)
